We’re proud to have in-house Wella Master Colour Experts who pass their knowledge to the rest of the team, offering daily support and training. We also have regular training from Wella to ensure we remain at the top of our game when it comes to colouring products, trends and techniques.
We also use the fantastic Vish colour management software, which allows us greater precision when mixing hair colour for each client. We can accurately measure and track your colour formulas which means you only pay for what you use ... and it reduces colour waste by up to 40%.

Your Colour Consultation
To ensure your hair colour is tailored perfectly to you, we require all new colour clients to book an Introductory Colour Consultation (15 minutes / £15). This includes a skin test and strand test, and the fee is redeemable when you book your colour service within 30 days.
If you’re planning a major colour change, correction, or just want more time to explore options, we recommend our In-Depth Luxury Consultation (30 minutes / £30) which is also redeemable if you book a colour appointment within 30 days.
Please note: If you’re new to The Colour Bar, new to hair colour, or haven’t had your hair coloured with us in the last 3 months, you must book a quick allergy alert test (skin test) at least 48 hours before your appointment.

Blonding
From creamy vanilla blondes to icy platinum tones and everything in between, we’re here to create the perfect blonde for you. We are experts in all types of blonding techniques including highlights, full head bleach, baby lights, face-framing pieces, and 'lived-in' blonde colours.
Blonding is an art that requires precision, skill and an understanding of hair health. That’s why we take the time to assess your hair during your consultation, and we’ll always be honest about what’s achievable in one session. We’ll also recommend bond-building treatments such as K18 or WellaPlex to maintain the integrity of your hair throughout the lightening process.
Whether you’re going blonde for the first time or looking to refresh your tone, we’ll design a look that suits your skin tone, lifestyle, and maintenance level. Want to soften root regrowth? We can blend your roots for a seamless transition between appointments.
We also offer Gloss & Glow services - a quick and gentle way to add tone and shine between blonding appointments. It’s perfect if you want to try a new hue temporarily or just keep your blonde looking fresh and luminous.
Balayage
Balayage remains one of the most popular and flattering hair colour techniques. This bespoke style offers a soft, blended, and natural-looking result that’s low-maintenance and high-impact.
At The Colour Bar, we customise every balayage to suit your unique features and hair goals. Whether you’re after sun-kissed caramel tones, rich golden hues, or an ashy Scandinavian blonde, our stylists have the expertise to bring it to life.
Balayage works beautifully on both light and dark hair and can be as bold or as subtle as you like. We can create soft ribbons of colour through your ends or frame your face with lighter pieces for a youthful glow. We also offer Reverse Balayage for those wanting to deepen their roots and refresh dimension.
One of the best things about balayage is how well it grows out - you’ll enjoy a longer time between appointments while still looking polished. We often pair balayage with a Gloss & Glow top-up service to refresh tone and shine between lightening appointments.

Before your appointment, we’ll assess your hair’s current condition and perform strand testing if needed. Many vibrant colours require pre-lightening, and we’ll always talk you through the process and maintenance involved. For more complex transformations, an In-Depth Luxury Consultation is ideal to explore your options and map out your colour journey.

Not everyone loves looking in the mirror while getting their hair done - and that’s okay! If you'd prefer not to see the process, just ask us to “cover the mirror,” and we’ll happily do that so you can relax.
Silent Appointments
Prefer to enjoy some quiet time during your appointment? Book a silent appointment. We'll still greet you warmly and go through your consultation, but after that, you can sit back and enjoy the process in peace - no small talk, just great hair.
Skip A Head Massage
Some clients love it, others would rather not. If you’d prefer to skip the head massage at the backwash, just let us know. We want your visit to feel just right for you so are happy to simply wash and go!
